Its a usual Friday afternoon, im sitting at home watching TV with my sisters, and then this movie trailer comes on TV, its called 'Bolteya el 3ayma', and from the trailer i understood that it is about a woman who lives in a very poor area, an area very similar to Ain el Seera, but in Alexandria. And there was this line that the main character(Abla Kamel) says, and it goes something like that "isnt that what we have elected you for? The electricity that we only have every 15 min and the water and the sewage problems?" And that kind of struck me right there, cuz usually i would listen to something like that and it would just pass, i wouldnt have given it much thought at all, not because i didnt care but cuz i didnt really understand or know, problems that many people with certain circumstances have to live with every single day. And that when i started talking to my sisters and explaining those problems to them. So, Dr. Mona, THANK YOU for this class, really!

Yessss ya Yasminnnee I've seen this trailer and believe it or not, I really got the same thoughts and the same feeling..I instantly remembered Ein el Seira..It's true that this course have implanted in us the knowledge about those people living in places that we have never known anything about...Allow me to share with you your THANK YOU to Dr. Mona :)
I haven't seen the trailer BUT it is soooo true that after this class our eyes and ears are open to things that we never took into consideration before!!!
Like now I always wonder where the people that beg on the streets live or what are their problems!! You know how some people always say "la2 these beggars can work why should we give them money"!!! I THINK THEY SHOULD PAY A VISIT TO AIN EL SIRA...
I would also like to THANK Dr. Mona :))
i havent seen this bas im sure if i would have i would remember ein el sera just like u all said...
bas as many of u said, this class has opened our eyes to many things we havent thought of paying attention to before..
every day i see things around me, and i realize them... i didnt really pay much attention before.. bas now i do so much more..
ein sera, like many other places around us has things which we alone may not have understood if we hadnt taken this class, because this class taught us to think, look into the community and try and think like them.. leave our biases behind us and focus on what is now and happening..
what does the community want, rather than what do we want the community to want.
